Manufacturing Engineering Manager

About the role

Sandvik is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for its Alachua Production Unit in Florida. The role leads the manufacturing engineering function to ensure products are designed and produced efficiently, cost‑effectively, and with high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of manufacturing engineers.
• Define goals, KPIs and accountability for value‑added contributions.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production and Supply Chain to apply DFM principles, resolve manufacturing issues and support new product introduction.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous‑improvement initiatives, optimizing plant layout, workflow and material handling.
• Oversee design, procurement and maintenance of tools, fixtures and equipment; evaluate automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Identify and execute cost‑reduction opportunities while maintaining quality.
• Maintain accurate process documentation, SOPs and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Own 5S implementation and sustain workplace organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading manufacturing engineering teams.
• Strong track record of applying DFM, lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies.
• Ability to partner across design, production and supply‑chain functions.
• Experience managing tooling, automation projects and plant layout optimization.
• Focus on cost reduction, productivity improvement and compliance.
