Manufacturing Engineer – Torrance, CA

About the role

Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing Engineering team at the Torrance, CA plant. The role focuses on developing and maturing manufacturing processes for production hardware, supporting new product introductions and legacy programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform drawing reviews and apply DFMA principles for new product introductions.
• Develop quality‑based, cost‑effective manufacturing processes and design tooling, fixtures, and specialized cutting solutions.
• Conduct critical analysis during process prove‑out, troubleshoot issues, and revise methods to meet quality and yield targets.
• Support continuous improvement in the machine shop for complex parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Review legacy manufacturing plans, ensure drawing compatibility, and recommend updates to improve yield.
• Implement automation, advanced manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Research, specify, and purchase capital equipment to increase capacity or improve technology.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to optimize facility design and process use.
• Provide technical ownership, programming support, and troubleshooting for gear production equipment such as hobbers and shapers.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing engineering.
