About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Summer Intern to support its Austin, TX operations. The internship offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced semiconductor manufacturing environment, where you will collaborate with build and test teams to drive process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with build and test technicians to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Execute time studies on the build and test lines.
• Lead small manufacturing process improvement projects.
• Develop and update operation method sequences (OMSs).
• Support manufacturing engineering with part‑defect root‑cause analysis and processing.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and hands‑on problem‑solving abilities.
• Quick learner with a willingness to acquire new skills.
