Manufacturing Engineer – Powertrain Test Systems

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer on the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) team, you will design, build, and launch production test systems for engine powertrains. Based in Dearborn, Michigan, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure test processes meet global quality and efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support specification, procurement, build, installation and launch of Powertrain Production Test Systems.
• Deliver standardized test processes (Leak Test, In‑Process Test, Cold Test, Hot Run) aligned with global strategies.
• Collaborate with Product and Prototype Engineering to develop feasible test solutions.
• Work with Assembly, Machining, Quality and Plant Operations to integrate test processes into manufacturing lines.
• Develop and monitor production test sequences via test software interfaces.
• Troubleshoot production issues, determine corrective actions, and implement test‑stand modifications.
• Conduct equipment acceptance activities at OEM and plant locations.
• Review quality indicators, propose improvements, and use lessons learned to refine processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
