Manufacturing Engineer – Murphy, NC

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Industrial Group in Murphy, North Carolina. You will work onsite, supporting value‑stream managers and contributing to the development and continuous improvement of electromechanical products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects or project components.
• Provide technical support for process development and continuous improvement.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist and drive FMEA activities.
• Sign off engineering drawings and detail assembly operations.
• Design concepts for production tools and fixtures.
• Compile manufacturing instructions and routings.
• Perform cost analysis and labor content for quotes.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Develop assembly line layouts and packaging solutions.
• Justify and procure capital equipment.
• Provide daily floor support and offshore supplier assistance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/engineering technology or equivalent experience (associate’s degree may be considered).
• Minimum one year experience with manufacturing electromechanical devices.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong ability to read mechanical blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Knowledge of statistical monitoring practices.
• Experience with CAD for visual work instructions.
• Background in Lean/5S manufacturing.
• Experience in tooling design (conceptual or actual) and troubleshooting industrial machinery.
