Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin virtually every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The Manufacturing Engineer will help design, develop, and optimize equipment that advances AI and next‑generation semiconductor technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects and programs, ensuring preliminary activities such as outcome definition, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning are completed.
• Deliver projects in line with product/process specifications, cost targets, resource utilization, and schedule commitments.
• Document all phases of project, program, and process development and disseminate information to relevant functional areas.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, including engineering notebooks, patents, IP confidentiality, ISO standards, and safety requirements.
• Oversee effective use of material and financial resources to maximize productivity.
• Assign work to subordinate staff, providing coaching and professional development.
• Manage departmental budgets and spending requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to analyze situations or data, review relevant factors, and recommend policy changes.
• Experience receiving assignments with clear objectives and delivering results.
• Leadership skills to provide direction, administer policies, and guide employees.
• Judgment to exercise problem‑solving within defined procedures and policies.
• Understanding of the impact of decisions on schedules and project timelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and present technical information.
