Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate current manufacturing capabilities, develop production strategies, and implement equipment upgrades for its Space and Defense programs. The role is based onsite in Chatsworth, CA and reports to the Manager of Site Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve production issues, field failures, and customer complaints promptly.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements.
• Design and optimize tools, equipment, and documentation for assembly, testing, and repair.
• Support lean manufacturing activities such as Kaizen and Gemba walks.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure smooth implementation.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support and training to production teams.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Collaborate with customers on project requirements and updates.
• Establish preventive maintenance and calibration programs for production equipment.
• Investigate non‑conforming materials, manage corrective actions (CAPAs), and oversee CAPEX projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with statistical analysis and lean manufacturing methodologies.
