Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Valence Surface Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support its surface‑finishing operations for aerospace, defense, space and satellite programs. You will design and implement tools and techniques that lower labor costs, improve turnaround time, and enhance quality across key process steps such as masking, sanding, painting, and demasking.

Key responsibilities

• Design, create and implement tooling and techniques to reduce labor costs and improve process efficiency.
• Review existing processes on legacy products and introduce improvements to aids, tooling, and templates for repeatability.
• Analyze customer specifications for new products, identify gaps, and develop new processes.
• Coordinate process optimization, including tooling, sequencing, throughput, and cost analysis, to drive material, labor, and paint cost reductions.
• Manage projects to meet goals and deadlines, including first‑article qualification and pricing evaluation.
• Generate accurate work orders and technique cards in collaboration with planning.
• Create and update internal procedures, quality work instructions, and document control for customer engineering.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Processing, or Aeronautical Engineering (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in chemical processing or related engineering roles.
• Eligibility to work under U.S. export control laws (EAR/ITAR) as a U.S. Person.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CATIA for design and tooling.
