Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Rolls‑Royce is seeking an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer to join its Civil Aerospace business at the Washington, North East England campus. You will support the creation, development and maintenance of manufacturing methods for our production lines, ensuring they meet safety, quality, cost and delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to operations to ensure process compliance.
• Collaborate with engine project, design teams and supply chain to introduce new products.
• Continuously improve manufacturing methods, focusing on safety, quality, cost and lead time.
• Work with local experts and suppliers to capture and apply technical data.
• Develop manufacturing capability through internal and external acquisition.
• Implement innovative digital manufacturing solutions to create a digital thread across the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified engineer (minimum UK HND/foundation degree or equivalent).
• Manufacturing engineering experience in core disciplines such as component ownership, NC programming, CMM programming or laboratory work.
• Proven problem‑solving and process‑improvement skills using APQP and PPAP tools.
• Demonstrable experience working in a manufacturing environment.
