About the role
Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductor and display technologies. The NPC Manufacturing Engineer II will develop and maintain methods, operating sequences, and processes for fabricating parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies, working onsite at the Austin campus.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain all methods, operating sequences, and processes for part and assembly fabrication.
- Collaborate with other engineering functions to coordinate product improvements and new product releases.
- Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing and product costs while improving quality.
- Determine time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements.
- Develop and use test procedures, evaluate results, and assess work methods and policies.
- Identify root causes, perform Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and implement corrective actions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 2‑4 years of related engineering experience.
- Strong conceptual knowledge and technical problem‑solving ability.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Required skills
- Etch engineering experience.
- Lean manufacturing principles.
- Automation and continuous improvement expertise.
- Design for Excellence (DFx) methodology.
- Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
