About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for the 2nd shift to develop and maintain fabrication methods, sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies. The role works closely with other engineering functions to release product improvements and new products while driving cost reduction and quality improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies.
- Lead manufacturing engineering related projects as required.
- Interface with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.
- Estimate manufacturing cost, determine time standards and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
- Develop and use test procedures, assist with definition of test specifications, and collaborate with test engineering on fixture design.
- Determine root‑cause analysis for issues during assembly or test and drive corrective actions.
Required profile
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in manufacturing engineering and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with manageable risks.
