Manufacturing Engineer - Gearset

About the role

We are launching e‑Axle production in Charleston and need a Manufacturing Engineer to lead gearset assembly processes. The role combines hands‑on problem solving with technical project execution to ensure efficient, high‑quality production of electric‑drive components.

Key responsibilities

• Own the gearset/transmission loop processes on the e‑Axle production line.
• Maintain product knowledge of transmission and gear components and oversee assembly verification (measurement, meshing, etc.).
• Develop best‑practice procedures, training materials and documentation.
• Implement lead‑plant and International Production Network (IPN) processes and standards.
• Support ongoing production through problem‑solving, documentation and trial runs for process improvements.
• Derive manufacturing attributes from customer requirements and drive Process FMEA (PFMEA) and Control Plan creation.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners (process development, quality, suppliers, logistics) to optimise processes and equipment.
• Participate with lead plants and expert teams on latest technologies and process enhancements.
• Conduct or support customer‑required process assessments and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Self‑starter with strong curiosity and ability to lead technical process development.
• Minimum three years of experience in automated, industrial manufacturing.
• Comfortable working in cross‑functional and international teams.
• Structured, systematic work approach with flexibility to adapt to dynamic changes and multitask.

Required skills

• Process FMEA (PFMEA) development.

• Measurement and meshing techniques for gear components.
• Experience with automated industrial manufacturing systems.
