Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer – Mill‑Turn

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join its Military Aircraft team in New York. The role focuses on transitioning operations to the next‑generation Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed operation sheets and CNC programs for high‑precision machined parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Define manufacturing sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements to streamline production.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and vendors to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.
• Provide hands‑on support in the production environment, including program prove‑outs and troubleshooting.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and design modifications.
• Assist in estimating costs and timelines for new proposals and tooling development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years experience, or equivalent combination of associate degree/experience or high‑school diploma/experience.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with mill‑turn machines and strong knowledge of process engineering from raw material to finished product.
• Hands‑on experience with machine setup and operation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
