Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join its Military Aircraft team in Buffalo, NY. The role combines new product development with continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes, focusing on high‑precision machining.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed operation sheets and CNC programs for high‑precision parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Define manufacturing sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and vendors to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.
• Perform hands‑on program prove‑outs, troubleshooting, and machine setup in the production environment.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and design modifications.
• Assist in cost and timeline estimation for new proposals and tooling development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering from raw material to finished product.
• Hands‑on experience with machine setup and operation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
