Manufacturing Engineer & CNC Programmer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join its Military Aircraft Group in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on high‑precision multi‑axis machining and supports the transition to the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) facility.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed operation sheets and NC programs for precision‑machined parts and sub‑assemblies.
• Define manufacturing sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements to streamline production.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and vendors to resolve issues and improve manufacturability.
• Work hands‑on in the production environment, assisting with program prove‑outs and troubleshooting.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and design modifications.
• Assist in estimating costs and timelines for new proposals and tooling development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree with 6+ years relevant experience, or High School diploma with 8+ years relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Proven experience with multi‑axis machining.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering from raw material to finished product.
• Hands‑on experience with machine setup and operation.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for cross‑department collaboration.
