Manufacturing Associate - Night Shift

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Manufacturing Associate for its nights shift. The associate performs operations in the manufacturing area following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), working a 12-hour rotating shift (7 PM to 7 AM) with an onboarding period of about 2 to 6 weeks on an administrative Monday-to-Friday schedule. The role carries an additional 15% shift differential and premium pay for Sundays worked.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operations according to SOPs and monitor critical processes
• Complete routine validation protocols and regularly draft and revise documents such as manufacturing procedures, SOPs and technical reports
• Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in reviewing documentation for assigned functions
• Participate in cross-functional teams and represent the manufacturing teams
• Own deviations and CAPAs, and identify, recommend and implement improvements to routine functions

Required profile

• High school/GED plus 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience, or an Associate's degree plus 6 months of such experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, knowledge of large-scale biotechnology operations (purification, cell culture, aseptic processing), knowledge of single-use systems, CFR and regulatory knowledge, and understanding of analytical methods for manufacturing

Required skills

• Basic statistical mathematical skills and ability to interpret and apply GMP knowledge
• Demonstrated technical writing, project management and presentation skills
• Basic troubleshooting skills on production equipment, experience with Delta V and lab equipment/testing
