Manufacturing and Quality Specialist

About the role

KAIROS, Inc is seeking an energetic and experienced Manufacturing and Quality Specialist to support the V-22 Osprey Joint Program Office. The position is based in Pax River, MD and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to contribute to critical aerospace programs while enjoying flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing and quality expertise to the V-22 Osprey Joint Program Office under the guidance of a senior Government M&Q engineer.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to establish M&QE requirements across acquisition phases.
• Evaluate suppliers and perform facility assessments to ensure design, development, and manufacturing plans align with systems‑engineering processes.
• Develop and review engineering designs, schematics, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists.
• Plan, execute, and document tests using specialized equipment, record results, and generate detailed test reports.
• Assess design producibility, manufacturing planning, and production/quality processes for affordability and schedule compliance.
• Prepare technical risk assessments and support Production Readiness Reviews.
• Participate in design reviews, providing technical input on producibility and manufacturing considerations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing and quality roles within aerospace or defense programs.
• Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior engineers.
• Strong analytical skills for data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent communication skills for technical briefings and cross‑functional collaboration.
