Manager V – Electrochemical Process Engineering

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior manager to lead a team of engineers and scientists in developing and testing novel electrochemical processing subsystems for semiconductor wet‑process equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to invent and test new subsystems for electrochemical processing of wafers and panels.
• Integrate literature review, engineering design, and experimental testing in an iterative loop.
• Drive use of computer modeling tools such as COMSOL, Matlab, CFD and FEA to guide design.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, controls, and software engineers on new product development.
• Develop hardware, automation, fluid and process sub‑systems, specifying testing from prototype through reliability analysis.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics.
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, especially wet chemical and electroplating processes.
• Demonstrated leadership and management of multiple project teams.
• Experience with multi‑physics simulation tools such as COMSOL and Ansys.

Required skills

• COMSOL multi‑physics modeling.
• Matlab programming and data analysis.
• Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Electrochemical process engineering, including electroplating, etching, rinsing and drying.
• Wet chemical processing expertise.
