Major Gift Officer – Houston

About the role

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is seeking a Major Gift Officer to lead and expand its fundraising efforts in the Houston area. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, you will work closely with the development team to build and steward relationships with major donors, advancing the Foundation’s mission of promoting free‑market public policy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, cultivate, and secure major gifts to support the Foundation’s programs.
• Manage a portfolio of existing donors and identify new major‑gift prospects.
• Conduct donor research and create personalized cultivation strategies, including visits, correspondence, and event participation.
• Coordinate and support special donor events and outreach initiatives.
• Maintain accurate donor records in the TPPF database and provide regular stewardship updates.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on donor strategies to senior management as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in major‑gift fundraising or related development roles.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals and institutional donors.
• Strong communication skills to convey the Foundation’s mission and impact.
• Demonstrated success in donor research, solicitation, and stewardship.
