Maintenance Technician – Yardly Steele Creek

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Yardly Steele Creek community in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on ensuring that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet the company’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident‑requested work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant homes, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory by retrieving, tracking, and returning tools, supplies, and equipment, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and technical issues in residential properties.
• Experience with make‑ready procedures, including inspections, vendor scheduling, and final quality checks.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Willingness to perform general grounds upkeep and cleaning tasks.
• Commitment to cost‑effective maintenance practices.
