Maintenance Technician – Weller (Preserve Property)

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician – Weller to support the Preserve property in Asheville. The role ensures that the building, grounds, amenities and common areas are clean, safe, functional and meet Greystar’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attending routine safety meetings and following all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
• Experience with make‑ready turnover processes and coordinating vendors.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Commitment to maintaining clean and safe property environments.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and participate in safety meetings.
