Maintenance Technician – Townes at Herndon

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Townes at Herndon community. The role ensures that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Manage the make‑ready process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, and final inspections.
• Track and manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, returning unused items and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and building issues.
• Experience with make‑ready turnover processes.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking and supply management.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and documentation standards.
