Maintenance Technician – The Waters at Hammond

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support the day‑to‑day operation of The Waters at Hammond, a Greystar residential community. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with residential property maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety guidelines and code requirements.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation and inventory control.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to address urgent service requests.
