Maintenance Technician – The Hartley (DC)

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join Greystar’s property team at The Hartley in Washington, DC. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to keep the building, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, coordinating vendors, obtaining supplies and completing all required maintenance tasks.
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment and supplies, track usage and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to follow established procedures, safety policies and risk‑management guidelines.
• Attention to detail in inspections, documentation and quality of work.
• Willingness to work with vendors and contractors as needed.
