Maintenance Technician – Summit Pointe

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the Summit Pointe property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. The role involves both reactive repairs and proactive preventative maintenance to keep the community operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, repairs and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Maintain common areas and amenities by cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal and minor painting tasks.
• Inspect contractor work, conduct routine property inspections and report safety or risk concerns.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to take on‑call duties during evenings, weekends and holidays and to travel occasionally to other properties.
• Compliance with Greystar safety policies, including OSHA training and incident reporting.

Required skills

• EPA refrigerant recycling certification (Type I, Type II or Universal).
• All state and local service‑technician certifications required for the jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license (required to operate a golf cart on larger properties).
