Maintenance Technician – Student Living Property

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Cheatham Street Flats student‑living community. The role focuses on keeping the building, grounds, and common areas clean, safe, and fully functional while delivering prompt service to residents.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders, diagnose issues, and perform repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Complete accurate documentation for all service requests and maintenance activities.
• Maintain common areas and amenities by trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and occasional painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible.
• Participate in routine safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with building‑maintenance tasks in a residential or student‑housing environment.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, safety guidelines, and code requirements.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Willingness to work on‑site and collaborate with vendors and internal teams.

Required skills

• Basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Experience using inventory management systems.
