Maintenance Technician – Prose Highland

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Prose Highland property in Houston. The role ensures that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and completing repairs in line with policies and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking of work orders.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and follow established safety and procedural guidelines.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify the source of mechanical or building issues.
• Experience coordinating vendors and managing inventory for maintenance operations.
• Attention to detail in documentation and quality inspection.
• Commitment to Greystar’s safety, risk‑management, and cost‑control programs.
