Maintenance Technician – Process & Packaging Equipment

About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, and improving process and packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment. The technician works to maximize production efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment, including control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks that require advanced technical expertise.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the database and communicate issues to engineers, operators, and supervisors.
• Train production employees on equipment set‑ups and operation.
• Participate in projects, rebuilds, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure food‑safety compliance and meet all regulatory requirements.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for operators during adjustments, set‑ups, and change‑overs.

Required profile

• High school or vocational school diploma; 5+ years manufacturing experience, preferably in food production.
• Technical college training, industrial maintenance degree, or completion of a formal apprenticeship is preferred.
• Ability to read manuals, line diagrams, and schematics.
• Physical ability to work at heights up to 50 ft with fall protection, lift up to 75 lb frequently, and stand for long periods.
• Exposure to voltages up to 480 V and ability to work safely with electrical power.
