Maintenance Technician III – Fiber & Coaxial Networks

About the role

Optimum is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial transport and distribution cable services for residential and business customers. The role involves troubleshooting from the headend to customer devices, supporting headend electronics, and mentoring lower‑level technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform demand and preventive maintenance on transport, trunk, and distribution networks from the Master Telecommunication Center to customer devices.
• Maintain network integrity through FCC‑required tests, unity gain network checks, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair FTTH and RFOG networks, including headend equipment and critical infrastructure.
• Support and mentor junior technicians, and coordinate training initiatives.
• Collaborate with design, construction, ISP, and NOC/ROC teams to resolve escalated issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Internal applicants must complete the Career Progression program.
