Maintenance Technician – Facilities & Grounds

About the role

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Technician to support the Walker County Campus and travel to other campuses as needed. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds while providing reliable emergency support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs on buildings, equipment, and fixtures under supervision.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical and grounds equipment.
• Maintain landscaping, apply herbicides/pesticides, and repair parking lots.
• Assist with renovation projects, including plaster/drywall repair and painting.
• Document work performed in required logs and records.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests during evenings or weekends.
• Help relocate furniture, fixtures, and office equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Relevant experience: 1 year (Tech 1), 3 years plus certification (Tech 2), or 5 years plus certification (Tech 3).
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and work occasional evenings/weekends.
• Full‑time availability (40 hours/week) on‑site.
