Maintenance Technician – Electrical Systems & Automation

About the role

The Maintenance Technician – Electrical Systems & Automation will be the electrical expert for Moog's Defense division in Salt Lake City. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will ensure that manufacturing equipment and facility systems operate reliably and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and chemical schematics to troubleshoot and repair complex industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
• Install, repair, and replace electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, switches, fuses, and electronic components.
• Connect wiring to motors, fixtures, and other equipment; overhaul machines, replace defective parts, and make adjustments.
• Clean, lubricate, and remove debris from machine parts including shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Clear clogged drains, replace plumbing fixtures, and install industrial plumbing systems.
• Program or monitor PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Maintain access‑control, security, and fire‑alarm systems.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED; vocational or technical training is a plus.
• Licensed Journeyman Electrician or at least 7 years of maintenance experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs and maintaining access, security, and fire‑alarm systems.
• Ability to read schematics and work safely with industrial electrical systems.
