Maintenance Technician – Columbus, OH

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its Columbus, OH property team. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to keep buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas clean, safe, and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, track usage, return unused items, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials responsibly.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs safely.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and make‑ready processes.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking and documentation practices.
• Willingness to perform general grounds upkeep and basic painting tasks.
• Commitment to following safety, code, and company policies.
