Maintenance Technician – Columbia, SC

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Maintenance Technician to join our property management team in Columbia, South Carolina. The role focuses on ensuring that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform repairs in accordance with company policies, safety standards and local codes.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to reduce downtime.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process, preparing vacant units for new tenants by completing inspections, repairs and cleaning.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to address after‑hours emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Experience in residential property maintenance or a similar hands‑on technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
