Maintenance Technician – College Facilities

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support Augusta Technical College’s facilities and grounds. You will perform skilled and semi‑skilled work to keep buildings, equipment, and outdoor areas safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and associated hardware.
• Install, maintain, repair, and renovate plumbing fixtures.
• Assist with renovation and carpentry projects as assigned.
• Maintain college equipment, vehicles, and grounds, including landscaping, herbicide/pesticide application, and parking lot upkeep.
• Maintain fire alarm, sprinkler, and security systems.
• Coordinate maintenance and custodial staff under supervisor direction.
• Respond to emergency repair requests.
• Maintain required records, logs, and documentation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one (1) year of experience in a skilled trade (electrical, carpentry, plumbing) or building maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Physical ability to lift, push, and carry heavy items.
