Maintenance Technician – Block 75 (Student Living)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of Block 75 student‑living property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. The role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and conduct preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments: conduct pre‑move‑out inspections, create punch lists, schedule vendors, obtain supplies, perform required maintenance tasks and inspect completed work.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests and maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform repairs according to established procedures.
• Experience handling work orders, inventory tracking and documentation.
• Willingness to follow safety protocols and attend routine safety meetings.
