Maintenance Technician – Avana Star Lake Apartments

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas of Avana Star Lake Apartments meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This hands‑on position involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident service requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, participating in routine safety meetings.

Required profile

• Ability to perform technical and mechanical work in residential properties.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills for building systems.
