Maintenance Technician – Ascent Uptown

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the physical aspects of Ascent Uptown – a high‑rise, stabilized property in Charlotte – meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. You will work on resident service requests, preventative maintenance, and the make‑ready process for vacant units.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them in line with policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the make‑ready process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, task completion, and final inspection.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment by tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests and maintenance activities accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs safely and according to code.
• Experience with make‑ready procedures and coordinating vendors or contractors.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
• Willingness to work a Monday‑Friday schedule with rotating on‑call duties.
