Maintenance Technician – 5th Street Commons

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas at 5th Street Commons meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This onsite position involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident service requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform repairs in compliance with safety and code standards.
• Experience with preparing vacant units for new tenants, including inspections and coordination with vendors.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and accurate documentation.
• Willingness to perform general grounds‑keeping tasks and assist with cleaning and painting duties.
• Commitment to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.
