Maintenance Technician – 1400 Wabash

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the physical upkeep of its residential property located at 1400 Wabash. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete preventative maintenance work orders, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service activities accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever feasible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform repairs safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
• Physical capability to handle cleaning, painting, and equipment operation.
• Willingness to collaborate with vendors and maintain clear communication with supervisors.
