Maintenance Supervisor – Temple, TX

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This role combines hands‑on technical work with oversight of vendors and team members to keep the community operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and complete work orders from resident requests, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Oversee the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor scheduling, supply ordering and final quality checks.
• Develop and maintain standards for the appearance and cleanliness of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, common areas and signage.
• Inspect work performed by team members, contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, coordinating purchases with the Community Manager within budget.
• Execute monthly preventative maintenance tasks as defined in company policies.
• Assist in budgeting for regular repairs, maintenance and capital projects.
• Conduct safety meetings, keep MSDS sheets current and ensure OSHA and other safety regulations are met.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience; prior experience in property or building maintenance.
• Ability to use and maintain hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment and measuring devices safely.
• Strong logical problem‑solving skills and basic mathematical ability for financial and administrative tasks.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with residents and team members.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property.

Required skills

• EPA Type I and II or Universal certification for HVAC refrigerant handling.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with property management software (preferred) and strong computer skills (internet, word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
