About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to support its health facilities in the Benton and Bryant locations. The role ensures that building systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently, contributing to a high‑quality patient care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures promptly to minimize downtime.
• Respond to work orders and emergency service calls, documenting actions taken.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and UAMS policies.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and installations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• Experience in facility maintenance within a healthcare or similar environment.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and respond to after‑hours emergencies.
• Valid U.S. work authorization.
