Maintenance Specialist – Petrochemicals (Freeport, TX)

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join BASF’s Petrochemicals division in Freeport, Texas. The role supports the Acrylics and Oxo‑SynGas units by leading the planning, coordination and execution of plant outages, turnarounds, washes and other large‑scale maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and govern outage schedules in line with the G‑P‑ME 010 Outage Process, ensuring milestones, scope definition and work packages are complete and execution‑ready.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams from Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Technology and Capital Projects to validate resources, sequencing and cost controls.
• Track and control outage budgets, manage cost reporting and own the lessons‑learned process.
• Monitor and improve planning and scheduling productivity for routine and special work scopes.
• Provide leadership throughout the outage lifecycle, influencing strategic decisions to meet safety, efficiency and predictability targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing plant turnarounds or large‑scale maintenance projects in a petrochemical or chemical environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams toward common objectives.
• Strategic thinking combined with a focus on execution excellence and risk mitigation.
