Maintenance Manager - Dairy Manufacturing

About the role

Meijer is looking for a Maintenance Manager for its dairy manufacturing site in Tipp City. The role leads assessment and execution of facility capital expenditures and maintenance improvements, with a focus on productivity, lower labor and overhead costs, less ingredient and packaging waste, and high standards of safety, quality, sanitation and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical and electrical expertise is available to keep production systems, utilities, buildings and grounds running 24/7, 7 days a week.
• Collaborate with plant management and corporate staff to use equipment to improve safety, quality, reliability and overall equipment effectiveness, using continuous improvement techniques.
• Promote maintenance and engineering standards that comply with SQF, FDA and OSHA regulations.
• Use a computerized maintenance management system to run scheduled preventative maintenance and optimize asset utilization.
• Develop, report and analyze maintenance performance indicators and drive corrective actions.
• Stay up to date with industry regulations and codes for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Manage the maintenance budget with a focus on cost savings and follow corporate policies in capital projects and daily maintenance.
• Manage employees directly or through supervisors, covering selection, retention, development, discipline and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• At least 2 years leading manufacturing-related capital projects, including oversight and execution.
• Prior experience with ESL and/or aseptic filling equipment required.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and ability to follow sanitation and quality policies.
• Ability to coach, develop and retain a team, and to adapt to change.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Experience managing capital projects.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization and attention to detail.
