About the role
As a Maintenance Helper you will assist in keeping the foundry safe and running smoothly. The role involves shoveling sand, sweeping, cleaning designated areas and operating a forklift as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Shovel sand from pits using a flat‑edge shovel
- Sweep and clean designated areas, using a push broom to remove dust and debris
- Remove waste sandbags from designated locations
- Operate a forklift (after certification) to transport waste and product
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining furnace ladles and temperature controls
- Follow directions from supervisors and maintain awareness of surroundings
Required profile
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day
- Repetitive use of both hands and feet for up to 10 hours daily
- Constant awareness of surroundings
- Capability to push, pull or lift items up to 50 lb
