Maintenance & Fleet Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance & Fleet Technician to join South Georgia Technical College in Americus. The role supports the campus by performing skilled maintenance, repair, and renovation across facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and related hardware.
• Install, maintain, and service HVAC equipment.
• Install, maintain, and renovate plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Assist with facility renovation and carpentry projects.
• Maintain college equipment and fleet vehicles, including small engine repair.
• Perform grounds maintenance, landscaping installation and upkeep.
• Maintain fire alarm, sprinkler, and security systems.
• Respond to emergency maintenance and repair requests and keep accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a skilled trade such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, or general building maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety policies, construction plans, and blueprint interpretation.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items and provide customer‑friendly service.
