Maintenance Engineer Manager

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineering Manager to lead the North American Wind Turbine Engineering Support and Major Corrective teams. You will be responsible for driving reliability, performance, and long‑term maintenance strategy across a growing portfolio of renewable assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance Engineering function and the Major Corrective Team in scheduling, planning and executing major component replacements.
• Use installed monitoring systems to forecast component failures, ensuring parts availability and minimizing downtime and crane time.
• Develop and implement annual blade inspections, preventative maintenance programs and technical solutions that maximize equipment availability and optimise costs.
• Monitor operating trends, lead root‑cause analyses and implement remediation strategies.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain the technical document management system and keep accurate maintenance records, procedures and documentation.
• Oversee training, hazard analyses and compliance checks to meet safety standards for personnel and contractors.
• Partner with Procurement to manage spare parts, tools and vendor relationships.
• Prepare the expense budget for the Maintenance Engineering function and produce daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports.
• Recruit, hire and develop Maintenance Engineering staff, providing coaching, performance feedback and technical training.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineering Manager, preferably in wind turbine or renewable energy assets.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams and major corrective projects.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering, asset performance optimisation and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage budgets, develop technical documentation and drive continuous improvement.
