Maintenance & Calibration Technician – GMP Facility

About the role

Bionova Scientific LLC, a rapidly growing biologics CDMO, is seeking a Maintenance and Calibration Technician to join its Facilities and Engineering team in Fremont, CA. The role supports the operation, maintenance, calibration, and compliance of manufacturing, laboratory, and facility systems within a GMP‑regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and inspections of laboratory and manufacturing equipment and process instrumentation.
• Execute and coordinate calibration of GMP and non‑GMP instruments, covering temperature, pressure, humidity, flow, level, mass, pH, and conductivity.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical utilities and building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, gases, fire protection, and general infrastructure.
• Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance, calibration, and repairs beyond internal capabilities, handling quotes, purchase orders, scheduling, shipping, and documentation review for GMP compliance.
• Document all maintenance and calibration activities in the CMMS, ensuring timely completion and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical aptitude with a disciplined approach to quality compliance.
• Experience working in a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of GMP compliance and documentation.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, gas, and fire protection systems.
• Equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
