Maintenance Assistant – Full-Time

About the role

Mission Valley Post Acute is looking for a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our Fremont facility safe, clean, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff. This full‑time position involves hands‑on work across a variety of building systems and grounds.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the building and its grounds.
• Carry out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections throughout the facility.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and supplies in good working condition.
• Assist with room turnovers, furniture assembly, and improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety regulations, and facility policies.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and safety programs.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance experience in healthcare, skilled‑nursing, post‑acute care, or similar settings preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; valid California driver’s license preferred.
