Machinist IV – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a Machinist IV to work the 3rd shift on site in Buffalo, NY. The role involves producing high‑precision aerospace and defense components that directly support mission‑critical programs. You will apply advanced machining techniques and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure part quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision machining operations and CNC programming on CAM systems to create, repair, or modify complex parts and assemblies.
• Plan, fixture, and layout jobs while maintaining extremely tight tolerances (.0001‑.0002).
• Inspect finished work and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with design draftsmen and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues, select tooling, and develop fixturing solutions.
• Make technical decisions on setup, tooling, and inspection methods when detailed instructions are absent.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• Minimum 6 years of diversified machinist experience.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
