Machinist III – 3rd Shift (Buffalo, NY)

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Machinist III for the 3rd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. The role involves producing high‑precision aerospace and defense components on advanced CNC lathe‑mill machines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan work and solve problems within the cell with minimal supervision.
• Set up and run parts on CNC lathes with milling capabilities to achieve tight tolerances and fine finishes.
• Inspect finished work, adjust gauging equipment, and identify any deviations or errors.
• Interpret complex GD&T drawings, sketches and operation sheets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 4 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably on lathe and mill machines.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic arithmetic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CNC lathe and mill machines.
• Working knowledge of G‑Code.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls (a plus).
• Knowledge of B‑axis mill turns with main and sub‑spindle (a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints and operation sheets.
